Access Health and Care

AccessHealth Care

We work to improve access to health and wellbeing services

Access Health and Care is a non-profit organisation working to improve access and utilisation of health, education and care services by global majority communities in London. Our work ethic borrows heavily from the nexus between physical health and the eco-system in which an individual lives, and that is why we prefer to address needs holistically to ensure outcomes that last and can secure a meaningful change in the person’s life.
The global majority communities in the UK face serious health and social inequities, key among which are poverty and ill health, unemployment, low educational attainment, poor housing and under-representation in UK social, economic and democratic spheres of life. Addressing these inequities requires targeted, culturally-sensitive and linguistically accessible approaches. No single agency possesses the capacity to meet all needs, so we at Access Health and Care prioritise partnership work and collaboration with statutory as well as civil and community sector (CVS) bodies in addressing needs.

Mission, Vision & Values

Our Mission

Access Health and Care is committed to empowering its client communities so they can feel empowered and able to make good decisions about their health and wellbeing. We take a multidisciplinary approach to issues that commonly affect the individual, family, group and the entire community so that their challenges are overcome, and the lessons shared more widely.

Our Vision

We want to contribute to creating a society where people of all ages, racial background, and social and economic status thrive together. We want a society that is equal, healthy, and at one with the environment they live in.

Our Values

PEOPLE-CENTRED: We exist for the community, so all our programmes are informed by needs identified by people who live in the community we serve.
TRUST: We give equal value to every member of the community we work with, and take measures to ensure each view or feedback informs our approach to problem-solving. This engenders trust, and mutual respect for the work we do. LISTENING: We are always ready to listen to our clients, and we value their views. This ensures joint ownership and improves the impact of the work that we do.
PARTNERSHIPS: We work together with other agencies in the state and non-state sector to ensure the needs of the people we serve are taken into account when designing policies. Partnerships make it possible for our clients to access health, social, education and care services promptly and optimally.
